It has been more than two and a half years since my last post and during this time, a lot have happened.
You may wonder whether I made my Millions already.
Well, the answer is simple – Not yet, but I’m on it.
So what have I done since my last post?
- Managed to build a work-life balance while improving my income.
- Learned to work with different customers as a freelancer.
- Tried to get accepted to a Relocation Program in Australia.
- Co-Founded a Company (The dream I mentioned on my first post! yay!).
Even though it sums up to four bullets, the process was (and still) very challenging and enlightening.
In the beginning of the process, I thought that after a year I’ll fulfill my goal. Now I understand that the goal is evolving with me and every peak becomes a hill that let me see the next goal.
The last years led me to couple of conclusions:
- The worth of my time from an employer’s point-of-view is slightly higher than I thought.
- Negotiations, Contracts and Quotes sucks but mandatory.
- Some of the customers like that you get the work done, but don’t like to pay on time.
- Life is like a PC game, the more we progress, the more complex it gets.
But the most important lesson I want to share with you is that:
– COMFORT IS A BITCH –
One may read what I just said and don’t understand why I think about the Comfort Trap when basically, I’m in control of my time more than ever, the income is good plus I had started my own company like I dreamed for years.
Well here comes the tricky part…
When I’m in control of my time, I can basically do whatever I want when I want and plan my schedule according to my personal goals.
But unlike a full-time employee, no-one stands next to me with a stopwatch to remind me my personal milestones and deadlines.
Working with no clear goals and deadlines can make us S-L-O-W.
Plus, when you are not sure what’s the right direction you should take, it’s very easy to get lost in the Comfort-Zone, again…
Because, maybe you escaped the previous Comfort-Zone of being a full-time employee, but you got trapped again in a new, better one – Being a freelancer who works for 3 days a week and takes the rest of the week easy, too easy.
I lately realized that I got stuck in a new comfort zone that blocks my personal and financial growth.
I got stuck with a new ceiling and I have to find a way to unlock the next level.
I don’t know how, but I will unlock the next level!
